SALT LAKE - Martin Door Manufacturing has been
re-certified as an ISO 9001-2000 UL Registered
Firm, passing its latest inspection with flying
colors.
UL Certification of Martin Doors to the ISO standard
is crucial to maintain the quality and total value
for which Martin is known in over 80 countries.
Martin Door undergoes an ISO inspection annually,
and this year two inspectors from Underwriters
Laboratory spent three days at Martin Door to
complete a triennial audit, in which results from
the last three years are reviewed. Only minor
items were found.
Ed Combs, the lead auditor for Underwriters Laboratory,
conducts audits on approximately 150 companies
a year. He said Martin Door Manufacturing ranks
in the top ten percent of those companies, because
of its ISO culture.

Combs is quick to point out that no company
is perfect, but said the culture of Martin Door
towards ISO procedures and processes "is
always improving."
Manuel Marco had the chance to see Martin Door
for the first time, as part of the UL audit
team. He said Martin Door has created "a
great, great work environment."
"The total management has the vision and
commitment," Marco said. He said the teamwork
and work environment he found among departments
at the company was impressive.

Larry Martin, vice president of MDM,
credited the work of the Martin Door internal
audit team, led by Rick Marshall, Don
McMillen, Rueben Cardenas and Roberto
Juarez.
Martin said the items listed in the last
audit were very minor
It is the second consecutive year that
findings were so minor that UL did not
require a response to the suggestions.
Marshall said the audits show an attitude
from Martin Door employees of wanting
to be the best in the world at what they
do. He credited management for helping
to build the best garage door in the world.

it comes to quality," Marshall said.
Juarez said he is proud to be part of the audit
team to help re-certify the company to ISO 9001-2000
standards.
