Ultimate In Garage Door Safety---Without Photo Eyes

Apr. 25, 2007
UL Approves New Martin Door Systems

Martin Door will offer the ultimate in garage door safety, without photo eyes by early summer of this year.

Martin Door has introduced two new residential openers, which operate without photo eyes. The company has introduced the DC2500e-O, and the DC3700e-O, all of which operate without photo eyes. The two new openers are part of a new offering of five residential openers introduced this month by the manufacturer.

Introduction of the latest in technology for garage door openers adds up to convenience for both the installer and homeowner in saved labor, reduced call backs and the ultimate in safety. That isn't all.

Underwriters Laboratory has approved the new photo eye free door system for the full range of Martin Garage Doors. This approval is only available when a Martin Door and a Martin opener are ordered as a package.

"Martin Door Mfg has now expanded its first ever UL Listed Door and Opener System, which includes both the garage door and the opener as part of the system, to a new system so smart, that it is safer than with photo eyes," Larry Martin, vice president of Martin Door, said. Martin noted that photo eyes have limitations and that obstacle has now been removed with the new openers. The world's finest and safest garage door system just got even better.

"This UL listing demands first that the door itself be a safer door, with finger and hand protection. Martin Door Mfg continues to lead the world in garage door safety, and UL has put their label and listing right on the garage door in affirmation of that fact," Martin said.

The new openers are newsworthy on their own merits. Both of the new openers without photo eyes feature the latest in soft touch reverse technology. The opener has a hi-tech smart computer that automatically learns the force needed to open and close the door. After it is programmed, it will reverse with about 15 pounds of resistance.

The opener's new circuit board technology is so advanced that if a 20-pound child jumps on the door to ride it up, the door will stop. It signals good-bye to fun for some kids and hello to safety.
