Martin Doors To Be On CBS

Mar. 24, 2006

Martin Garage Doors will be part of a new promotional video for a homebuilder that will be aired on CBS TV later this year.

Film crews from Michigan were in Utah in late March to prepare footage for the cable TV show “The Savvy Homebuyer” featuring Alderwood Homes. “The Savvy Homebuyer” is a 30-minute show that focuses on new homes and helps consumers get the most for their money.

Footage of Martin Doors and an interview with Ken Martin, president of Martin Doors, will be included in the show.

Ken Martin, president of Martin Door Manufacturing, pushes a tricycle under a moving garage door to show working photo eyes as part of a TV shoot while Wade Kings of Bella Group Inc. looks on. The tricycle in the picture was used to demonstrate the safety of a Martin Garage Door for children and adults.

The interview was done at the home of Matt Alder, one of the two owners of Alderwood Homes. Alder's home features two Martin Garage Doors.

Wade Kings, senior vice president of production for Bella Group Inc of Farmington Hills, MI, interviewed Ken Martin and asked him about the uniqueness of a Martin Garage Door. Ken talked about the curb appeal of a Martin Garage Door as well as safety, durability and other quality issues.

Ken Martin, left, demonstrates the quiet nature of a Martin Garage Door while Wade Kings of the Bella Group and his photographer watch, to Ken's left, and Ramon Campbell, co-owner of Alderwood Homes, and Michael Martin, director of Advertising for Martin Door Manufacturing, watch at the far right.

Ken also emphasized that increasingly builders are seeing the benefits of quality and value, in the new home market. With an expanding number of options, he also noted how the homeowner can use the garage door to match other features in a home.

Bella Group is expected to prepare footage for use for the show. Martin Door's portion of the show is expected to include approximately two minutes of footage.

Renata Kolodziej, a project manager for Bella Group, said CBS will air the show later this year. She said they would provide the time for Martin Door. DVDs of the show will also be provided for promotional use.
