New Innovation Makes Z Bracket Obsolete

Aug. 21, 2006

Martin Door has introduced a new rail support bracket that has eliminated the need for use of a Z bracket and extra punched angle to support a Martin Door opener.

Beginning in late June, Martin Door included the new support bracket into packages for Martin Door openers. Several dealers, who have not been apprised of the change called about the missing Z brackets and the two pieces of 5" punched angle, previously used.

One time-saving feature of the new bracket is that it has flaps, which fold over to hold the rail in place. Previously, a separate part and an extra step was required. Another feature is that the bracket can be mounted directly over the power head, between the two "C" brackets. This makes it more versatile than the old bracket, especially for an R & R job, when an installer is replacing an old opener, and does not want to dramatically change the ceiling mounting location.

Dave Martin says when you compare apples to apples a Martin Door is the best value in the garage door market.

Dave Martin, chairman of Martin Door Manufacturing, said the new bracket will speed up installation and ultimately make the setup of every Martin Door look better.
