Martin Door recently partnered with a Spanish-TV
station in Salt Lake City to produce the first
of two shows in Spanish, intended to show the
homeowner how much the right garage door can
add curb appeal to their home.
Michael Martin, director of Advertising, said
he is attempting to help increase demand for
Martin Doors among Hispanics. The new TV shows
will be put into a video/DVD format for dealers
to use worldwide. The show was produced in conjunction
with KUTH 32 TV and Univision and is part of
the show "Contacto". German Rodriguez
hosts Contacto.
The video will be used to help market Martin
Doors in the U.S., Mexico, parts of South America
and Puerto Rico and Spain.
Martin said he hopes to use the show to initiate
a trend in Spanish, which was started last year
in English when a Martin Door was installed
in three separate versions of HGTV's "Curb
Appeal" in the greater San Francisco area.
A CD and DVD of those three shows are available
for dealer use and Martin said he's had requests
for the same type of show in Spanish.
Mike, with the assistance of Hispanic Martin
Door managers and employees, searched for a
Spanish equivalent of the HGTV show, but could
not find an equal. In their search they did
find supportive producers at KUTH 32 TV, who
worked out the details Mike.
As part of the arrangement, Mike negotiated
to have a Spanish-speaking designer worked with
a Magna couple on how to increase curb appeal
in front of their home. The tips included landscaping
areas, as well as changing the garage door.
Dave Martin was on location for the final shoot
where he finished the show saying "Martin:
Las puertas mas finas y seguras del mundo."
(Martin: The world's finest and safest garage
doors."
