| He's had a big hand in Martin Door's growth and success, both literally and figuratively.
Scott Wall lives and breathes Martin Doors.
Even a traumatic incident, illustrates how he has integrated himself into the fabric of Martin Door Manufacturing.
In the 90s, Wall got his glove caught in the chain of an industrial garage door opener, resulting in the loss of a part of his thumb.

Trying to cope with the emergency, Wall realized he needed to call his wife and get help.
Dave Haslam, director of National Sales for Martin Door, tried his best to pry out the home phone number from the injured worker, to facilitate the call to Wall's family.
All Wall could do was recite the phone number for Martin Door.
Even in shock, his programming was geared to the company.
“This is a great place to work. Martin Door is the best product in the world, it really is,” Wall said.
A 22-year employee with Martin Door Manufacturing, Wall currently oversees the parts department and opener division. He has spent most of his two decades with the company in the maintenance/engineering and opener departments. His experience includes managing maintenance, engineering, the manufacturing plant, buildings and grounds and now the parts and opener department.

Wall said much of what he has learned about openers, was initiated when he used to work for the railroad as a locomotive electrician. He said principles that he learned on the train and the openers are similar.
He handles troubleshooting problems on all types of openers both commercial and residential and oversees some of the in-house testing done on doors and openers for Larry Martin, vice president of MDM. He also builds all opener displays.

“Scott Wall is one of the most dependable workers that we have,” Larry said of his long-term associate. He said Wall has helped Martin Door in decision making about what operators to offer. “ With Scott's help, we have chosen good,” Larry said.
Wall not only handles problems, but he manages to sprinkle humor and enthusiasm in most things he touches. He looks at Martin Door today compared to what it was like when he started, and sees major changes and differences. He said the company has continued to improve with time. He also credits the implementation of ISO and FloMax™ as major steps forward.
Wall and his wife Bobbie are the parents of four girls. His younger brother, Steve, also works for Martin Door. |
