Martin Quality Holds Up in Saudi Sand Storms
Mar. 14 , 2005

SALT LAKE – Selling garage doors for new construction projects in Saudi Arabia begins the day the builder starts a new home, Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Masaeed told participants in Martin Door's 2005 dealer conference.

He said his company, Al Masaeed Trading Services Est., will post stickers on a new home as soon as a project begins. It is not uncommon for vendors to post information on new projects, he said. The stickers often generate calls from the builder or buyer, to discuss a garage door.

“Once we catch the customer, our first job is to educate them properly by all means about the quality and safety of the Martin Door,” Abdul Aziz said.

He said it is easy to draw a clear comparison between the Martin Garage Door and other door systems in the Kingdom, because the Saudi climate is especially hard on garage doors. It is not infrequent for the total surface of non-Martin garage doors to be covered with rust in two to three years.

The climate in Saudi Arabia showcases the difference between a Martin Garage Door on the left and that of a competitor on the right. Both doors are approximately three years old.

He said sand storms are a particular problem in the Kingdom. He said Martin Doors, with a special hot-dipped galvanized and painted finish and 24-gauge steel, hold up well in the climate.

Abdul Aziz said his company pays attention to the details in installing doors, making sure the Martin quality is evident in how the door fits and operates in what are often non-standard garage openings.

Abdul Aziz said that he believed that Martin Doors and Al Masaeed Trading make a perfect combination for successfully selling garage doors in Saudi Arabia.
