Lake characterized a litigious climate in his state and said the forms help the customers deal with potential disappointment from garage floors or frames that are uneven to low headroom in the garage. He also noted how important it is to be thorough in all aspects of the business from scheduling, to follow up to going over details with the customer.
His advice included:
--the importance of proper scheduling. He said he calls the customer three days before an installation and one day before the installation, because rescheduling can be so costly.
--he emphasized the need to have written approval before order and or starting the installation of a door.
---stressing the need for the customer to have a clear garage door/driveway before the installation. He said his firm charges $75 per hour if they have to clear the work area.
