David Martin: An American Success Story.
Feb. 17 , 2005
SALT LAKE CITY – A former two-term governor of Utah calls David O. Martin an American success story.
Former Utah Governor Norman Bangerter, second from left, poses with Martin Door officials Dave Martin CEO, far left, and Ken Martin, President, second from right, and Salt Lake County official, Marv Hendricksen at far right. Gov. Bangerter and Mr. Hendricksen are former building business partners.

Gov. Norman Bangerter used David Martin; with whom he became a close friend during decades they were both in the Utah Home Builder's Association, as an illustration during a recent address to builders in the state during their monthly luncheon.

“Dave's been a real success story,” Bangerter said of the Martin Door CEO.

Bangerter went on to explain that he placed a priority on education, economic development and honesty in government during his administration. He suggested Martin is an illustration of those principles.

“You don't sell to 70 countries without being at the head of technology in your field,” the former governor said in reference to Martin Door Manufacturing.

Besides being long-term associates. Bangerter and Dave Martin have traveled together internationally on homebuilder-related trips.
