It's a case of exceeding standards, in a difficult situation.

Martin Garage Doors were recently installed on officer housing at a U. S. Navy base on Guam.

Guam is an island known for its heavy winds and the 86 garage doors installed, meet Miami-Dade wind load standards.  But the unique doors went way beyond being able to handle heavy winds.

Navy officials wanted a certain look in the housing for officers and requested a color not available on the regular easel of 77 powder coat colors available to Martin customers---Charlie Brown.

Because Martin has the ability to customize the color of a door, getting doors in the specialty color was not a problem.

Charlie Brown is a deep, rich brown color, and the newly installed doors sparkle in the new development, which Dave Martin visited earlier this year.

The quiet nature of the unique doors, with so many quality and safety features, left officials commenting that their expectations were exceeded.

"It makes you feel good they liked the doors and to know they were better than expected," Martin said of the reaction.

When Dave Martin visited the worksite, at one point he climbed a tall ladder to help make an adjustment on a garage door.

Martin Door Manufacturing, announced the company has established a presence on Social Media.

The intent of using Facebook and other social media site is to expand the company's influence and to build more exposure for the world's finest, safest garage doors.

Posts will no longer be long or complicated and in many cases may be as simple as unique photos, as a means of getting word out fast of comings and goings at Martin Door.

For example, photos of a unique door recently installed in Utah, were showcased and photos from a recent visit by Congressman Jim Matheson of Utah were also posted on the site.

Martin is offering a wider center stile option for most of its raised panel and vertical groove doors, which enhances the carriage house look, by allowing more room for antique handles on a door.

The wider center stile brings an especially attractive option with carriage house doors---allowing additional room for antique carriage house handles. The option is available immediately, according to Robert Scott, director of Engineering for Martin Door Manufacturing.

The new option makes a Woodline, Ranch, or Grooved panel door look more like a "swing out" carriage house door, according to Michael Martin, director of Advertising for Martin Door Manufacturing.
